ABOUT ACKLEY METALS
Since 1989, Ackley Metal has established itself as the leader in the medical manufacturing industry and prides itself on its contributions in cutting edge medical technology. The company has consistently passed its 13485 ISO audits with ease
Ackley Metal started 30 years ago as a one-man operation metal spinning shop and operated out of a small, 2-car house garage. Founder, Paul Ackley, focused on aerospace and defense commercial work. Paul’s oldest son, Alan Ackley, took an interest in his father’s work and would offer to assist him in the spinning shop when he could. Eventually, Alan would go from a young apprentice at 14 years old to an employee in the company once he graduated.
While at a tradeshow, two engineers from a very large medical device company approached Paul and asked if he could help with a new, one-piece shaver blade project. Paul saw this as an opportunity to grow into a new industry and immediately secured the order. This order catapulted Ackley Metal to a new level of expansion with new equipment.
It refined the company’s unique tube closing process to meet the demands of their new client. Ackley Metal quickly transitioned from the greasy daily grind of a spinning shop in a garage to the precision manufacturing of medical devices in a commercial building to support new business.
Over the next 10 years, Ackley Metal would acquire multiple businesses to support the growing needs of the company.
The company strategically started to acquire capital equipment that would allow for expeditious lead times, superior quality, and overall savings on the commodity items.
Thirty years later, Ackley Metal has grown into a competent and responsive company. The company consistently passes its ISO 13485 audits and keeps up with the most current standard certification.
Our company is committed to manufacturing high-quality products. This company has what it takes to deliver superior customer service. We have a strong leadership team and excellent employee retention. I believe that says a lot about where we are, what we care about, and most importantly, where we are going,” said Alan about Ackley Metal.
It was important for the company to support the capacity and precision needs as the demand grew for medical shaver blades and other components.
As time went on, Alan Ackley worked his way up to become the Vice-President of the company. Ackley Metal’s business model grew to cover many aspects of product quality and customer expectations.
